The property is architecturally designed to take advantage of our wonderful tropical climate and easy going lifestyle. It also boasts the comfiest hammock in town at one end of the breezeway.
The Hideaway Bush Retreat is the place to go, to hideaway, to getaway, to disconnect and reconnect with yourself or loved ones. There is NO TV and NO WIFI , however you can always BYO your own devices and hotspot from your phone. We have loads of books, cards and boardgames to keep you occupied. We also have binoculars and a bird book to help you identify all that you see.
Our private plunge pool provides the perfect place to cool and unwind.
The Hideaway is an easy 800m walk to the closest beach!
The Hideaway Bush Retreat sleeps 4, with 2 airconditioned bedrooms. 1 x Queen bed and 2 x Single beds.
The Hideaway Bush retreat is an easy 128 km drive from Darwin or a 15 minute ferry ride from Darwin CBD. Pick ups and transfers from the Ferry are available on request.

Please note there is one grocery store in Wagait Beach with limited provisions. Coolalinga and Berry Springs are the last stops to purchase food and alcohol for your stay.

This is magical spot to disconnect and reconnect with yourself. Even in the wet, it is an amazing place. Sitting outside and listening to the rain on the roof was so relaxing. Taking a dip in the pool with a glass of wine is a must. Will definitely stay again!

The Hideaway is the most peaceful and relaxing accommodation I can ever remember staying in. The pool is the most fabulous bonus to have on the property and I have been in it more than I have been out of it! I love the sound of the birds and the rain. The resort was serene and peaceful, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life in Darwin City.The cleanliness was impeccable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary utensils, making our stay incredibly convenient.We also met the owner, Nicole. She was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We had the best sleep we've had in a long time, thanks to the air-conditioned rooms and comfy beds.We look forward to staying at Wagait Beach Resort again in the future. Highly recommended! Beautifully designed premises that allow you to enjoy the best of top end weather - louvre windows in the kitchen and an open air covered dining room - while still getting air con for the sleeping quarters. Lovely bush gardens and we spotted curlews and blue winged kookaburras. The pool was beautifully clean. Very welcoming, and we hope to be back. Date of arrival - 7 March 2025
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at The Hideaway for the weekend. The home is beautifully furnished, with gorgeous little personal touches that made us feel at home. Generous kitchen so we could cook. Clean rooms with comfy bedding. The bathroom had beautiful products to use that smelt amazing. Make sure to take advantage of the electric bikes and ride around exploring. To say this was the perfect place to disconnect from the world, reconnect with each other and relax would be an understatement. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and will be going back soon!
